Mark Aanonson Training

Mark Aanonson from American AVK in Minden, NV recently gave a presentation for the Boys and Girls Club’s career day on June 28th of this year. Firefighters and police officers were among those who came out to share information about their jobs with kids. It was his first time doing this, but decided to get involved this year as his wife is a program coordinator for the club. About 64 kids participated in the event, and Mark taught them about how a fire hydrant works. He demonstrated how the dry barrel works, how water flows in it, how it opens and closes, and how a firefighter’s hose connects. He enjoyed teaching the kids as some of them asked funny questions like, “How many fire hydrants are there in the world?”. Mark hopes he inspired them by increasing their interests in fire hydrants.
