Series 27 Video Install an Extension Kit

This is a recorded live Webinar from January 19, 2021 on Series 27 Installing a Traffic Repair Kit. The presenters were Territory Manager Justin Howard and Eastern Region Sales Manager Kent Culbertson.

Series 27 Key Features

Series 27 Nostalgic and Modern Style Fire Hydrant, 1 Pumper, 2 Hose Nozzles Options Shown: 2x2.5" NST hose, 1x4.5" NST pumper, 304 bolting , UL/FM, 304 upper stem, 1.5" pent. op.nut, Chains, Red. Nostalgic style fire hydrant for use in fire fighting. The American AVK Series 27 Hydrant is designed to be a trouble free, easy to maintain hydrant.

The stainless steel 304 grade bolting is resistant to a specific environment and chemicals due to the number of components found in it. These bolts exhibit high corrosion resistance and are often non-magnetic. The product can be cold worked to harden it due to the material’s quality.

The hydrant shoe is equipped with an anode lug. This allows easy attachment of a sacrificial anode if a water utility happens to use those for cathodic corrosion protection. There is no need for welding which can cause damage to the hydrant.

Additional Options

The main function of the Hymax Grip is to provide a leak-tight restrained joint, which works with a wide variety of pipe types and diameters.  The Hymax Grip uses universal teeth to restrain all types of connecting plastic and metal pipes. The Series 27 fire hydrants are available with a 6” Hymax inlet connection and the Series 67 Post Hydrants are available with a 2” Hymax inlet connection.

HDPE, or High Density Polyethelene, is currently the dominant material used in water, gas, and sewage lines in Europe. In North America, HDPE is used heavily in gas,  waste water, and industrial applications.  It is gaining popularity for potable water lines as well, as is it does not leak, is resistant to corrosion, does not allow biological growth in the pipeline, and has superior seismic resistance.
